SLIDESHOW: Flower ceremony at San Francisco's Japantown for tsunami victims

On Sunday, people gathered for a Japanese flower offering ceremony in San Francisco's Japantown.

The event, which was held at the Japantown Peace Pagota, was to offer prayers and support for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan on March 11.

The ceremony, called a reishiki-ike ceremony, was presented by the Ikenobo Ikebana Society of America. During the ceremony, the traditions of which date back to the 8th century, floweres are offered with prayers.
