SLIDESHOW: 19th century cable car gets makeover, second chance on tracks 

MUNI officials and workers celebrated with members of the public during a service inauguration ceremony for newly restored Powel and Market Street Cable Car No. 26, built in 1890. The event was held at the Historic Cable Car Barn at Washington and Mason Streets as part of a San Francisco Municipal Railway's centennial celebration. The restoration took nearly two years. Workers who participated in the restoration were on hand to participate in the roll out.
