Skating, boat tours added to Sunday Streets schedule

When waterfront streets are closed to cars this Sunday, they will come to life with free roller-skating, boat tours of the Bay and family games.

The City’s second Sunday Street event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with motorists barred from waterfront streets from the Bayview to Chinatown.

The following activities will be held to help residents party where cars normally park and drive:

» Outdoor roller skating rink near Pier 52 with music, free skate rentals and classes

» The family-oriented South Beach 2008 Block Party just north of AT&T Park with family lawn games, face painting and free tours of the USS Potomac and The City’s fireboat and fire trucks.

» Free boat tours departing at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon from Pier 52.

Tickets are still available for the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tournament at Piers 30-32 this weekend, with the championship scheduled for Sunday.
