A 24-year-old man who was shot in the back in the backyard of a Bayview residence Monday afternoon was not cooperating with investigators, police said Tuesday.

The man reportedly suffered a bullet wound to the lower back on the first block of Latona Street, near Third Street, at about 2:50 p.m.

He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life threatening injuries, police said. His current condition was not immediately known.

Police say there were at least two suspects toting a handgun, but have no descriptions of them.
