Two teens were injured in a shooting inside a Richmond church this afternoon, a police sergeant said.
Witnesses said three male suspects entered the New Gethsemane Church of God In Christ Inc. at 2100 Roosevelt Ave. at about 12:30 p.m. where about 100 people were inside attending the service, Richmond police Sgt. Bisa French said.
One of the suspects then began shooting at several members of the congregation, according to French.
A 14-year-old boy and 19-year-old man sustained non-life threatening injuries in the shooting and were taken to an area hospital, French said.
No suspects have been arrested and a motive for the shooting has not been determined. The suspects are described as black males wearing black hooded sweatshirts with the hoods up.
