SF’s healthcare program gets award

San Francisco’s universal healthcare program has left a bad taste among businesses here, but it’s a program that continues to garner much attention and praise. According to the Department of Public Health, the 2-year-old health care program has been named one of five programs chosen nationally to be honored for its efforts to improve community health. The American Hospital Association will award the program July 24. The program was chosen for making the community a healthier place to be.
