SFPD asks public to help locate suspected arsonist

The San Francisco Police Department is searching for a man they say is responsible for a series of arson fires in South of Market.

The fires have been set at construction sites, in trash receptacles and occupied buildings.

SFPD released images from a surveillance video that show the man they suspect is setting the fires, and are asking for the public's help to identify him.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call Inspector John Miller of the arson task force at (415) 920-2944. Information can be reported anonymously by calling (415) 575-4444 or texting TIP411, with "SFPD" at the beginning of the message.
