SF Rec and Park Demonstrates Eco-Friendly Pest Management

The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department hosted a training demonstrating eco-friendly pest management training for parks staff. The training included a demonstration of predatory birds by Raptors Are The Solution (RATS) that can be helpful in controlling pests through the natural set-up of ecosystem in an urban environment. RATS bird handler Jay Sheets displayed a White Tailed Rite and a Red-Shouldered Hawk. Recently, the California Department of Pesticide Regulation awarded the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department the annual Innovator Award for its integrated pest management.
