These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department’s daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.
Mission district, Noe Valley
Diversion: Three suspects entered a dry cleaners at 746 Douglass St. on June 23. While the victim assisted one of the suspects, the other two stole the victim’s handbag and its contents. Suspects fled the scene.
Sunset, Parkside, portions of Golden Gate Park
Painted postal truck: Police were called to the 1700 block of Taraval Street at 3 a.m. June 22 about two suspects using black and blue markers to graffiti a postal truck. Officers found people matching the suspects’ description exiting a 7-Eleven at 32nd and Taraval. The suspects were stopped, found to have evidence and one confessed after being advised of his rights. The suspects were cited for malicious mischief.
South of Market, China Basin, Embarcadero
Escalator assault: An officer arrested a subject for sexual battery at Fourth and Market streets at 9:25 a.m. June 20. The subject assaulted a woman who was going up the escalator at the BART station.
Glen Park, Bernal Heights, Excelsior, St. Francis Wood
Robbery: A Mission district man walking home from work was robbed at gunpoint 12:30 a.m. June 27 at Bosworth and Cuvier streets by a suspect who took his backpack and wallet and fled in a black two-door Honda.
Bayview, Hunters Point
Purse snatching: Officers responded to the 1400 block of Wayland Street regarding a purse snatching at 12:43 p.m. June 24. Officers met with the victim, who told them that she was looking into the trunk of her vehicle when a person came up behind her and took her purse. The suspect then jumped into a car and sped off.
Pacific Heights, Marina, Japantown, Polk Gulch
Opera bluff: Officers responded to the Opera House at 9 p.m. June 21 regarding a trespasser. They met with security guards who were detaining a man. The man, who had a ticket for standing room only, decided he would rather sit for the performance. He sat in the third row and began yelling and causing a scene. Security waited until intermission to approach him, at which time the subject became verbally abusive and aggressive. Security then detained him and called the police. The subject was cited for trespassing and advised not to return.
