S.F. Police Blotter: Neighborhood crime log 

These are excerpts from the San Francisco Police Department's daily log of activities. Incidents are listed by police precincts and the neighborhoods they patrol.


Bayview, Hunters Point

Muni mugging: Officers responded at 5:23 p.m. March 14 to Gilman Avenue and Griffith Street regarding a robbery on a Muni bus. The victim on the bus reported that an unknown suspect grabbed her purse and cell phone and ran off the bus.

Robbery: At 8:10 p.m. March 15 officers responded to Somerset and Burrows streets regarding a robbery. The victim was robbed at gunpoint while walking on Burrows. The suspect took an iPod and a wallet full of money and then fled on foot on Burrows. The victim was not hurt during the incident.

Drug arrest: Officers driving near Terry Francois Street at 9:03 p.m. March 15 observed a vehicle without a rear license plate. The driver was stopped and found to have a suspended license. Officers searched the vehicle and found suspected cocaine. The driver was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and narcotics possession.


Glen Park, BernalHeights, Excelsior, St. Francis Wood

Robbery: A 43-year-old Excelsior district man was robbed at gunpoint by two people at 11:05 p.m. March 14 on Harrington Street. The suspect fled in a 1990s model Nissan with no license plates.

Search yields new crime: Officers were searching the neighborhood for a car used in the robbery on Harrington Street when they saw a vehicle that matched the description given. They followed the car and stopped it at 11:25 p.m. March 14 on the 2000 block of Palou Avenue. The driver did not match the description of any of the robbers. However, the 39-year-old Bayview man was on parole. The officers exercised the conditions of the driver’s parole and searched his car. They seized narcotics including methamphetamine and heroin and arrested the man. He was booked at Ingleside Station.

Beating: A 24-year-old Visitacion Valley woman was set upon by numerous people at 3:30 a.m. March 15 in the unit block of Brookdale Avenue and beaten for unknown reasons. She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment.
