SF law enforcement warning holiday travelers

The City's top cops will be providing holiday safety tips for travelers on the day before Christmas Eve.

Police Chief George Gascon and District Attorney Kamala Harris will be at San Francisco International Airport at 2:30 p.m. to give safety tips on one of the busiest travel days of the year.

Word is that the news conference will warn travelers of growing identity theft problems targeting holiday travelers. Experts advise travelers to keep their purses or wallets close to themselves instead of in checked luggage.

Also, airports like San Francisco’s are filled with laptop users. One common scam involves a crook setting up a rogue wifi hotspot that tricks the user into giving up their credit card information.

The duo will be at the north end of the International Terminal.
