Add this week’s “Megalodon” backlash to the growing list of Things People Are Freaking Out About That Really Don’t Matter.
The Discovery Channel ran the faux documentary about the current existence of a prehistoric shark that lived 1.5 million years ago, tipping its hat to “War of the Worlds” by barely mentioning that the whole thing was fake. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show ran three separate disclaimers, but some people want blood.
Wil Wheaton, who apparently has nothing better to do, penned an entire blog entry demanding an apology from the network for its “bulls**t documentary” that he called a “cynical ploy for ratings.”
“That is disgusting,” he continued, “and whoever made that decision should be ashamed.” Oh, the humanity!
