Search under way at Crestview Park in San Carlos for person in distress

Search-and-rescue teams are scouring Crestview Park in San Carlos this morning, looking for someone who was heard calling for help on Wednesday afternoon, San Mateo County emergency officials said.

A resident who lives next to the park reported hearing the yelling around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Personnel from the San Mateo County sheriff’s San Carlos patrol bureau and county search-and-rescue volunteers searched the park by ground and air on Wednesday, but didn’t find anyone in distress, county officials said.

This morning, searchers are returning to look through areas of the park that weren’t accessible in the dark. The park is located off of Crestview Drive.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office provides police services for San Carlos. Anyone with information on the Crestview Park incident is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (650) 363-4911.
