John Travolta and Kelly Preston have maintained their privacy since son Jett’s January death, but they are now opening up about the grieving process.
“We’ve been working very hard every day as a family to heal,” the actor told USA Today. “We have our own way of doing it, and it has been helping.”
Wife Kelly said, “The outpouring of love from, really, worldwide has been extraordinary.”
Despite rumors that Jett’s untimely death, after suffering a seizure, had soured John on Scientology, the “Pulp Fiction” star and his family apparently stuck with the church.
But John, Kelly and their daughter, Ella, are still navigating their complex feelings of loss. “It’s a tricky thing,” Kelly said. “Sometimes, something that’s right for the moment is not right the next day. Being with people who are important to you, being with people that you love, I think that’s what has primarily helped us the most. Sometimes being alone, too.”
We’re glad the family took time to mourn out of the public eye. (Joe Jackson, are you listening?)
Demi Moore has become something of a patron saint to “cougars,” thanks to her superhot relationship with younger hunk Ashton Kutcher (he’s 31 and his “wifey” is 47). But the actress isn’t really sure why, according to W magazine.
“I’m certainly not the first person to be in a relationship with a younger man, but somehow I was plucked out as a bit of a poster girl,” said the former Brat Packer, whose hubby has confessed to crushing on her when he was growing up. “I don’t know why that is. But I just kind of step back sometimes and say, ‘There is some reason, and what is it that I have to share in a positive way?’”
“I’d prefer to be called a puma,” Demi told the magazine. That’s, uh, much more empowering.
Speaking of celebrated cougars: Madonna is reportedly talking marriage with beau Jesus Lux. And she’s preparing to fly to Brazil to meet his parents, according to the U.K.’s Sun. Fun fact: Jesus’ mom is actually 15 years younger than Madge herself. Awwwkwaaard!
But the age difference hasn’t stopped the hunky 23-year-old model from taking the relationship seriously. Despite the pop star’s recent declaration that she would rather be run over by a train than wed again, “He wants to marry and be taken seriously,” a friend told the paper.
Says a biographer of the singer, “Madonna is telling close friends and family that ‘I definitely see myself marrying him. It’s on the table.’”
Better hope there’s a prenup on that table, too.
