An on-the-set auto crash sent Nicole Kidman to the hospital in the wee hours of Thursday morning. The Oscar-winning actress was filming a suspenseful scene of "The Invasion" with co-star Jackson Bond, 10, in downtown Los Angeles, when her stunt car veered off course and hit a pole.
Nicole was one of seven people rushed to Cedars Sinai Medical Center to be checked out. She was released two hours later; the others were also let go without any serious injuries.
Husband Keith Urban, freshly out of rehab, was reportedly on the film set at the time. This couple has been through enough stress lately. Let’s hope things calm down for them for a while.

Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman was taken to a hospital after the Jaguar she was in crashed in front of the store while filming a scene for the film.
Along with news of Nicole’s near-miss comes word of a recent auto accident that, tragically, didn’t have a happy ending. R&B singer Brandy has revealed that she was involved in a December car crash that claimed the life of one driver, following reports by TMZ.com.
According to the Web site, Brandy was driving on a Los Angeles freeway on the morning of Dec. 30 when cars in front of her slowed. Brandy reportedly did not react in time and her car struck another car, resulting in a chain reaction of collisions. Of the four drivers involved, one suffered moderate injuries, but Awatef Aboudihaj, 38, died of her injuries in the hospital the next day.
Brandy’s publicist confirmed in a statement, "Brandy was involved in a car accident Dec. 30, 2006, in Los Angeles where there was a fatality. She wishes to publicly express her condolences to the family of the deceased. Brandy asks that you respect the privacy of everyone involved at this time."
The singer was said by witnesses to be distraught on the scene of the accident. There were no reports of alcohol or drugs being involved, or of criminal charges being filed.
Mad props to Tyra Banks for her refreshing reply to tabloid accusations that she’s gained weight: Yeah? So?
The 5-foot, 10-inch supermodel and TV host tells People that at 33 years old and 161 pounds, she’s put on 30 pounds in the past 10 years. But as she points out, when you crunch the numbers, that’s still pretty smokin’.
"I still feel hot, but every day is different," the candid "America’s Next Top Model" star reveals. "It’s when I put on the jeans that used to fit a year ago and don’t fit now and give me the muffin top, that’s when I say, ‘Damn!’"
While tabloids calling her fat may not crush her confidence, Tyra worries on behalf of girls who consider her a role model. "I get so much mail from young girls who say, ‘I look up to you, you’re not as skinny as everyone else, I think you’re beautiful.’ So when they say that my body is ‘ugly’ and ‘disgusting,’ what does that make those girls feel like?"
We couldn’t agree more. Thanks for being real, Tyra.
For a second there, we were worried that Anne Heche had gotten all settled on us. But the star has once again delivered on her drama-queen rep by abruptly ditching her husband of more than five years.
Anne, who has made headlines for everything from switching her sexuality to inventing an alien alter ego named Celestia, seemed to have found domestic bliss with Coley Laffoon and their son Homer, almost 5.
But now, the 37-year-old actress is rumored to have left her hubby for her "Men in Trees" co-star James Tupper, whose own marriage ended in November. They haven’t confirmed the buzz yet, but we’ll be keeping an eye out to see whether these two debut as a couple.
