In true Hollywood fashion, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are ready to make their relationship official — after more than three years together and, oh yeah, two kids. The parents of daughter Harlow and son Sparrow are planning to tie the knot, Joel confirmed via — again, in true Hollywood fashion — Twitter.
“Yep. I’m engaged. Very happy. Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so you’re all kind of late on that,” the Good Charlotte rocker crowed Monday night. “But thanks for the hoopla all the same.” (Hey, it’s not our fault you consistently denied rumors that were actually true!)
The tattooed twin musician added, “P.S. That’s why I love my family and friends. None of them are sources. All good tight-lipped people who let us enjoy it! Thanks everybody.”
Hmph. It’s exactly those kind of good tight-lipped people who make our job more difficult!
Charlie Sheen’s wife, Brooke Mueller, is reportedly in rehab — officially this time.
Since a Christmas argument with her husband led to his arrest on domestic violence charges, Brooke has had a turbulent couple of months. The mom of twins was hospitalized with pneumonia; then she was reported to have checked in to rehab, only for her rep to insist she was just relaxing and recuperating from her illness. Now, Radar Online claims she’s in treatment for alcohol and crack addiction.
“She’s smoking crack and she’s drinking heavily,” an insider claimed. “Everyone around her wanted her to get help.”
In fact, even on the day she called 911 to claim her husband had threatened her with a knife, she was allegedly under the influence: “They partied that night. She didn’t stop.”
Prior to checking in, “she went on an all-nighter,” a source confided. “She was just out of control.”
“Brooke has been in denial about her problem for a long time,” said a source.
“It got to the point where even Charlie told her to go to rehab because of their kids,” another source said.
Since we’re glad Brooke is getting whatever help she needs, we’ll refrain from making a snide joke to the effect that if Charlie Sheen thinks you need rehab, you’re really in trouble. Oh … whoops.
Well, it seems that going to rehab is today’s hot trend. Or something. Chynna Phillips of Wilson Phillips has checked herself into treatment to manage her anxiety — which we’re guessing has at least something to do with half-sister Mackenzie Phillips’ recent revelations of a
10-year sexual relationship with their father, John.
“After much thoughtful deliberation Chynna Phillips has checked herself into an undisclosed treatment facility for anxiety,” a rep announced. “With the full support of her family and friends, she is looking forward to her recovery. We ask that people respect her and her family’s privacy at this time.”
Unfortunately for Chynna, not every member of her family is all that concerned with privacy.
