Scoop: Kanye West sues over Coinye currency

Kanye West is mad about his face being used on virtual currency — but he’s not sure exactly whom to sue about it.

TMZ reports the rapper filed legal documents in New York trying to get a judge to force the people behind the digital currency to immediately stop marketing and selling it.

The Coinye coins, which sport a “South Park”-esque depiction of Kanye wearing shades, were first offered to the public for sale Jan. 7.

“With each day that passes, [my] reputation is irreparably harmed by the continued use of the Coinye West marks,” stated West, whose attorneys requested an injunction against several companies he believes are responsible for its release.
