Scoop! Idol Clay is achin’ to put rumors aside

Clay Aiken is finally addressing those pesky gay rumors … sort of.

The "American Idol" Season 3 runner-up is making the PR rounds promoting his new CD, "A Thousand Different Ways," and, of course, every media outlet is asking whether the 27-year-old crooner is planning to come out of the closet.

"What do you say [to that question]? It’s like when I was 8. I remember something would get broken in the house, and Mom and Dad would call me in and say, ‘Did you do this?’ Well, it didn’t matter what I said," Aiken told People magazine. "The only thing they would believe was yes. … People are going to believe what they want."

Aiken did admit to taking the antidepressant Paxil.

"I said [to my doctor], ‘Listen, I don’t want to go to a therapist. I have nothing against therapists. I want to think I can do this on myown.’ And she recommended that I try a medication," Aiken said. "It makes everything easier."

Spoken like a man who is perfectly OK and not hiding anything, right? Oh, save your e-mails, Claymates.

Let’s do lunch, Paris

We say a lot of horrible things about Paris Hilton, because, well, she’s Paris Hilton. But we will be the first to say something nice when she deserves it.

On Tuesday, Hilton was grabbing some lunch in a McDonald’s drive-thru when a homeless man approached her car.

"You Paris Hilton?!? Can I get a hundred dollars?" the panhandler asked the "singer," according to

The man followed up with "How about a dollar?" but Hilton handed him a $100 bill. She even posed for a picture (which, of course, the fine folks at have posted on their Web site).

Houston has less problems

So, it turns out Whitney Houston filed for divorce from Bobby Brown ending their 14-year marriage for exactly the reason you think.

"Getting sober has given her the clarity to move on from him," one of Houston’s blabby buddies told Us Weekly.

Meanwhile, Brown has been uncharacteristically silent about the whole affair, telling People magazine, "I’m really saddened by the whole situation."

Kilson? Hudwen?

Last we heard, Kate Hudson was trying to work things out with her husband, Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson.

That plan seems to have gone bye-bye, because on Friday Hudson was spotted hanging out with "You, Me and Dupree" co-star (and rumored lover)Owen Wilson at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.

The couple tried to be discreet. Hudson entered the restaurant with three girlfriends, followed by Wilson 45 minutes later, according to Us Weekly.

Earlier this month, the couple both just happened to be vacationing in Maui at the same time, too. Hmmm, maybe they’re not secretly dating. Maybe Wilson is stalking Hudson.

By the way, we here at Scoop tried to come up with a clever nickname — à la "Vaughniston" — for Hudson and Wilson, but when you combine their last names you get "Hudson" and "Wilson." Perhaps The ’sons? Katewen? Howen? Wildson? Thoughts? Suggestions?
