Britney Spears is severing ties with the people from her dark past … and it looks like she may be kick-starting a brand-new romance.
The pop star will remain under the conservatorship of dad Jamie through the end of the year, a court ruled Thursday. But her legal peeps won’t seek to renew a restraining order against one-time self-described “manager” Sam Lutfi — whom her parents accused of drugging and verbally abusing Britney — because it’s no longer needed, her court-appointed attorney said.
“Britney has made clear to everyone,” announced the attorney, “that she does not want to be further harassed or contacted in any way by Osama ‘Sam’ Lutfi, now or at any time in the future.”
But there may be a new man in Britney’s life. That buff dude seen frolicking with her on vacation in Mexico turns out to be a bodyguard named Lee — and their relationship, some say, has become more than professional.
“Britney and Lee hit it off immediately,” a source dished to the U.K.’s Sun. “They’ve spent so much time together that one thing led to another and their relationship became physical.”
Sounds like good news to us. It might be too soon for Britney to embark on a serious relationship, but after all she’s battled through, girlfriend deserves a fun summer fling!
Game on! Alex Rodriguez has responded to the divorce papers wife Cynthia filed last month, and he’s pushing back against her allegations that he cheated. The Yankees slugger insists in documents obtained by the New York Daily News that such dirt is “immaterial and impertinent and should be stricken.”
Moreover, A-Rod is all about enforcing the prenuptial agreement that Cynthia wants to contest: “Husband denies any duty to support wife beyond those obligations specifically set out in the parties’ prenuptial agreement,” his filing declares.
If there was an All-Star Game for lawyers, this would definitely be it.
Is Dina Lohan picking up formerly out-of-control daughter Lindsay’s slack? The more stable and domesticated LiLo gets, the more drama her reality-star mom seems to stir up.
A source told E! Online that at the New York premiere of “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2,” the Long Island diva threw a major fit when she, accompanied by teen daughter Ali and a pal, sat down at a reserved table and were asked to move. “It so wasn’t cool,” the source declared. “Dina was so awful.” So, another source relays, she was “quietly removed” from the gathering.
But Dina counters that the studio rep who asked them to move raised his voice and “made the girls uncomfortable,” so “at that point, the girls wanted to leave.”
Too bad “Living Lohan” cameras didn’t catch the incident — so we could see for ourselves whose side of the story is true. (But we have a pretty good hunch anyway.)
