School crossing guard allegedly punches woman, arrested

Who: Okaye Gordon, 31

What: The school crossing guard was arrested in Hillsborough on Tuesday on suspicion of punching a woman after telling her, “I’m going to punch you.”

How: The victim, a 53-year-old woman, told police she was on a walk and saw Gordon in a creek bed near El Cerrito Avenue and Sierra Drive about 10:30 a.m. She said, “Hello.” Gordon then climbed up to the roadway, approached the woman and said, “I’m going to punch you,” police said. The woman said she was punched in the face. Gordon was taken into custody, police said, but not before refusing to leave the creek area. He is employed by the San Mateo-Foster City School District as a crossing guard, police said.

His charges: Assault and battery. Police say he confessed to the crime.
