San Mateo County supe seeks assessor's seat 

The San Mateo County Supervisor Mark Church said he will run for the positions vacated by the retiring Warren Slocum. In his 10th year on the Board of Supervisors, Church will be termed out in 2012. The former Millbrae mayor will try to become the county assessor, recorder and county clerk. Slocum served under Church’s father, Marvin, who was the clerk, recorder and elections chief.
