  • Classy: Public nudity in the Castro prompted one letter writer to appeal to Supervisor Scott Wiener, whose district includes the Castro, to stop nudists from “walking around with their king kongs hanging out.”

The Board of Supervisors has not had a regular meeting for several weeks, so the mail from my fellow San Franciscans to the board has been piling up. Today we take a look at some of the colorful communications that arrived during the board’s hiatus.

On Supervisor Scott Wiener’s efforts to deal with nudity in the Castro:
“I am a lifelong resident of San Francisco and when you come to the Castro with your kids and there are nude dudes with c*** rings that’s not normal. I thought it was also in bad taste when they are showing the Wizard of Oz at the famous Castro Theatre when little children have to walk past these ding dongs walking around with their king kongs hanging out; it’s a bit much.”

In opposition (I think) to the plastic bag ban:
“When you bring your reusable bags, you don’t know how much you are going to buy and it takes the spontaneity out of shopping.”

“In reference to your plastic bag ban, stupid is as stupid does. The quiet revolution against your ban began months ago. Have fun.”
