San Francisco police to deploy DUI checkpoints in The City this weekend

With the holiday season in full swing, San Francisco police want the public to be aware of the dangers of driving while impaired on drugs or alcohol, and so they will be conducting DUI checkpoints this weekend.

The checkpoints will be on Friday and Saturday nights between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. at random intersections throughout The City.

Police advise drivers to plan ahead and arrange for rides home if they are going to be drinking. They also advise hosts to limit their guests' alcohol consumption to no more than one or two drinks over several hours. Finally, police encourage anyone who sees potentially dangerous drivers to call 911.
