San Francisco police release details of attempted rape in hopes of catching suspect

San Francisco police are hunting for a man who allegedly stabbed a woman in the head after she resisted his sexual advances in the Outer Richmond district earlier this month.

The suspect, 35-year-old Ricky Philsith (who’s also known as Ratanaphon Philsith), also choked the woman after she resisted. The incident occurred Jan. 7 in the 400 block of 39th Avenue, police said. Philsith is reportedly the woman’s ex-husband.

Police are seeking the public’s help in apprehending Philsith, who has previously threatened to kill the woman and her boyfriend and reportedly owns two firearms.

Philsith “may be in possession of these weapons,” police said.

Police have released a photo of Philsith and said he is known to drive a dark grey 2011 Toyota Seneca with the license plate number KUMAN77.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Police Department’s special victims unit at (415) 553-1361.
