San Francisco police hobbled in perp chase but nab armed suspect

An armed suspect led San Francisco police on a perilous late-night foot chase down a Potrero Hill hillside, but didn’t get far.

Police said two patrol officers saw a man in his 20s armed with a handgun at 25th and Wisconsin streets just after midnight Sunday morning.

The suspect took off down a rocky hill and the officers ran after him, police said.

Both officers injured their ankles during the chase, but were able to take the man and his gun into custody, police said.

The officers were being treated at the hospital for their injuries, according to police.
