Do you have the day off? Playing hooky? Don’t have a place to check out the Giants game this afternoon? Swing by AT&T Park for Opening Day and watch Matt Cain, Buster Posey and Pablo Sandoval take on the Los Angeles Dodgers with thousands of other screaming fans.
The Giants might be opening their World Series title defense on the road this season, but fans can receive a real ballpark experience by watching Opening Day on the Diamond Vision scoreboard at AT&T Park courtesy of the team and Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.
The event is free and fans can enter the stadium through the Willie Mays Plaza gates beginning at noon.
The festivities will kick off with the airing of “Giants Pregame Live” followed by the game at 1 p.m., a faceoff between two of baseball’s best pitchers in Cain and Clayton Kershaw.
The early birds can bring home a pair of Giants collectibles. The first 3,000 fans can grab a free 2010 and 2012 World Series rings foam fist and the first 5,000 can snag an “Authentic Giants Fan” cheer card, along with a coupon for a free hot dog.
In addition, fans will receive a rare opportunity to get their picture taken with the 2010 and 2012 World Series trophies.
