San Franciscans vote in record numbers

With up to 60 percent of San Francisco’s 415,761 registered voters expected to cast ballots, according to Department of Elections Director John Arntz, this year’s primary election should yield the biggest turnout in city history.

More than 42 percent of registered voters turned out in March 2004 for San Francisco’s last primary election. Lengthy lines were present at polling stations across The City on Tuesday.
