A San Carlos Trader Joe's was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night, according to San Mateo County Sheriff's Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt.

Officers arrived to the scene of the 1400 block of El Camino Real about 9:30 p.m. and were told by witnesses that three men in their 20s or 30s entered the store just after closing time.

The three men then brandished silver handguns and demanded the store's cash before fleeing the scene on foot running north toward Belmont Avenue, Rosenblatt said.

All three suspects were said to be wearing black hooded sweatshirts, black pants and dark-colored bandanas over their faces. They were also said to be wearing gloves.

The Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in finding these crooks. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call Detective Hector Acosta at (650) 363-4064 or email hacosta@smcgov.org. Anonymous tips can be made at (800) 547-2700.
