The 49ers struggled against the St. Louis Rams last season, only managing a 0-1-1 record against their fellow NFC West competitors.
Safety Craig Dahl, who signed with the Niners in the offseason after starting for the Rams last year, offered one reason why that might have been the case.
"We had a few tips off of film that we were able to differentiate between run and pass early," Dahl said. "So that kind of gave us an added benefit on defense."Dahl, who signed a three-year, $5.25 million deal with the 49ers, went on to say the Rams were able to pick up whether the Niners were passing or running by the personnel and formation they utilized.
"It's been addressed and corrected," Dahl said. "They knew most of it before I even got here, and it's reconfirming."
