Ryan O’Neal continues to battle in court with the University of Texas over an Andy Warhol painting of Farrah Fawcett that the actress bequeathed to the institution upon her death.

O’Neal claims the million-dollar artwork has always been his and that the university needs to hand it over. According to RadarOnline, the university contends that O’Neal cheated on Fawcett, causing her to cut him out of her life completely, art and all, and that he has no claim to the piece.

O’Neal admitted to the infidelity under deposition, saying that Fawcett walked in on him and another woman in his and Fawcett’s Malibu bedroom in 1997, but that when she left him the painting remained behind. It was only removed a year later and given to Fawcett for safe keeping because his new girlfriend did not like having the image of Farrah on the wall “staring down at her” all the time.

Can anyone say “Rebecca”? O’Neal contends that he really thinks the painting should go to their troubled son, Redmond, and that is why he is pursuing things so doggedly. The trial continues.
