Ross optioned to Sacramento

The A’s finalized their roster Wednesday by sending pitcher Tyson Ross to Triple-A Sacramento.

Ross was 2-1 with a 1.80 ERA this spring, excluding a start in Japan when he gave up eight runs on 10 hits in four innings.

The A’s now have 11 pitchers on their 25-man roster and don’t need a fifth starter until April 17. Graham Godfrey will open the year as the fourth starter behind Brandon McCarthy, Bartolo Colon and Tommy Milone.

Oakland played two regular-season games against the Seattle Mariners in Japan last week, and will open its home schedule against the Mariners on Friday. — Ben Martin
