Robbery victim duped by fake FBI agent in Bayview

A 43-year-old man was robbed by a thug posing as an FBI agent in the Bayview district on Monday, police said.

The victim was approached by the crook at Third and Newcomb streets around 4:20 p.m. The suspect, described as a man in his 50s, identified himself as FBI and asked for ID.

After the victim pulled out his wallet, the faux agent punched him in the chest and stole cash, police said. The crook then fled with two other suspects, described as men in their 20s.

The victim was not seriously injured, police said.

There were no arrests as of Tuesday morning.
