Robberies continue to drop steadily in Ingleside

The robbery rate is continuing its downward slide in the Ingleside District, according to Capt. David Lazar, who heads the station charged with testing police reforms proposed department-wide.

The police district continues to sustain a 25 percent drop in robberies since last year. From Jan. 1 to  Sept. 23, Ingleside officers took reports of 325 robberies. Last year during the same period, there were 434.

Though robberies were down 15 percent citywide during the first six months of the year, Ingleside has led the decline. The station has implemented tactics such as introducing a dedicated cell phone for beat officers and bringing in an on-site crime analyst.
