Reward for ID of chump who dumped roofing waste near playground

The City is offering $500 to anyone who can help nail whoever dumped toxic roofing material near a Bayview playground Thursday morning.

The debris was illegally dumped sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. on Arelious Walker Drive at Egbert Street, near Gilman Playground.

“We are asking anyone in San Francisco or a nearby city who had their roof removed most likely on Tuesday or Wednesday to contact us if they suspect their contractor did not dispose of the debris properly or if you witnessed the incident,” said Mohammed Nuru, deputy director of operations at the Department of Public Works.

The reward offer came only a day before hundreds of volunteers were scheduled to gather in the Bayview to clean up the entire neighborhood as part of Coastal Clean Up, officials said.
