Residents displaced after Daly City house fire

Residents were displaced following a house fire in Daly City on Wednesday evening, fire officials said.

Firefighters responded to a report of a blaze about 6:15 p.m. at a single-family home in the first block of Lake Meadow Drive, North County fire officials said.

Firefighters who arrived at the home saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the second story of the residence, fire officials said.

The occupants of the home had evacuated prior to firefighters arriving at the scene and no injuries were reported, fire officials said.

Firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading to the ground floor, according to fire officials.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze and remained at the scene checking for further extension of fire and completing overhaul until shortly after 8 p.m., fire officials said. The occupants of the home were displaced by the blaze and made arrangements to stay with their relatives, officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
