Recreation and Park contest giving 2 tickets away for 49ers’ last home game

  • Recreation and Park is giving 49ers fans a chance to watch the last game at Candlestick.
Still hoping to get some tickets to see the 49ers’ last regular-season home game at Candlestick Park? Now you may have a chance.

The Recreation and Park Department announced Wednesday that 49ers fans can enter a contest to win two free tickets to the 49ers’ last game at the Stick against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday.

The general public can enter the contest by liking Rec and Park on Facebook or following the department on Twitter, then posting or tweeting their favorite memory of the Stick by 7 p.m. Thursday. Photos and videos are encouraged.

The winning entry will be announced Friday. Any 49ers fans can enter the contest through the agency’s Facebook page at and Twitter at

Rec and Park, which oversees more than 220 parks and recreation centers in San Francisco, also manages both Kezar Stadium, the original home stadium for the 49ers, and Candlestick.

The 49ers played 25 seasons at Kezar Stadium. They have played at Candlestick since 1971.
