Rally Against the Eviction of Low-income Families

Housing rights activists and tenants facing eviction rallied on April 30 at 741 Ellis St. The building's new owner, Ty Durekas, who is the CEO of an online Childcare service called Oncare, gave seven low-income families a notice saying that they have 90 days to move out. Because the apartment complex was built later than 1979, it doesn't require an Ellis Act eviction.
