Raiders sign former Stanford QB Edwards to reserve/futures contract

The Raiders signed three players to reserve/futures contracts Thursday, including veteran quarterback Trent Edwards. Oakland also agreed to deals with a pair of defensive tackles, David Carter and Torell Troup.

Edwards, a Los Gatos native who was taken in the third round of the 2007 draft out of Stanford, has made 33 NFL starts in his career.

Edwards was with the Raiders in training camp in 2011 before being cut prior to the season starting. He was last with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2012.
