Punch attack at San Francisco residential hotel leaves man with critical head wound

A vicious attack critically injured an employee at a San Francisco residential hotel Thursday, police said.

The suspect, a man in his mid-20s, was denied entry into the Civic Center Hotel at 20 12th St. around 7 p.m.

So he attacked the 59-year-old man who wouldn't let him in, punching him multiple times in the head with a closed fist before fleeing, police said.

The victim suffered serious head injury and was transported to Davis Medical Center, police said.
