A 15-year-old tagger tried to strike a deal with a cop who allegedly caught him vandalizing a mailbox in the Outer Richmond district.
“I’m sorry, can I rub it off?” the boy told the cop the afternoon of Feb. 21.
But the solution wasn’t that simple. A witness told the officer the boy’s graffiti was not only splattered on a mailbox, but on cars, newspaper stands and buildings in the area of 21st Avenue and Balboa Street, police said.
The witness provided the different locations he had seen the kid tagging. The kid’s parents were contacted, and he was charged with vandalism and possession of graffiti tools, police said.
