Pro-Am begins at Kezar today

The 32nd annual San Francisco Bay Area Pro-Am Basketball League tips off today with S.F. City taking on South Bay at 8 p.m. at Kezar Pavilion. The league draws some of the area’s top college and international pro players.

NBA players Jeremy Lin, Matt Barnes and Jason Kapono are slated to make periodic appearances this summer. There are no league tryouts, as each team has an open-roster policy for new additions at any time during the season.

The women’s league also starts this week, with games scheduled for noon, 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday at Kezar Pavilion. Stanford’s Chiney Ogwumike and Joslyn Tinkle are expected to be two of the top draws. Admission to all games is free.
