Post Office honors former postmaster 

Lim Poon Lee, the U.S. Postal Service honored the work of the former postmaster of San Francisco, who served from 1966 to 1980 and at the time of his appointment was the highest-ranking Chinese-American federal appointee, by naming the Chinatown Post Office at 867 Stockton St. in Lee’s honor. He was 91 when he died in 2002.
