Police searching for owner of marijuana grow house

San Francisco police confiscated about 300 marijuana plants Friday after firefighters were called to a blaze in Visitacion Valley.

Neighbors called about 6 p.m. to say house was on fire in the 2100 block of Bayshore Boulevard. Once firefighters doused the flames, they discovered hundreds of “juvenile, immature plants,” police Officer Albie Esparza said.

Police were called to the house, which appeared to have no occupants, and a narcotics investigation is now under way. There have been no arrests, Esparza said Saturday.

“Obviously, we’ll be talking to the homeowner when we know who that is,” he said.
