Police in San Francisco are investigating a shooting that left one male dead late Saturday night.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting Alemany Boulevard and Ellsworth Street about 11:14 p.m., police Officer Albie Esparza said.

A male was pronounced dead at the scene. Another was injured in the incident and was transported to a hospital, according to police.

The victims were both men in their early 20s, Esparza said.

The medical examiner's office was not ready to release the identification of the homicide victim early Sunday morning.

Further details about the shooting were not immediately available, and there was no suspect description, Esparza said.
