Police cite pregnant pot smoker

San Francisco police can be pretty lenient when it comes to cracking down on drugs. After all, voters did make enforcing marijuana laws their lowest priority.

But sometimes, police just can’t look the other way. On Thursday, for example, an officer busted a man “smoking drugs in plain sight in children’s playground,” according to the Park Station police blotter. The officer cited the man at Kimball Playground in Golden Gate Park at about 7:30 a.m.

What could be worse than doing drugs in a kid’s playground? Perhaps a citation given to a woman on Aug. 26 beats that, giving new meaning to medical marijuana.

At about 1 p.m. at Haight and Cole streets, an officer saw a “pregnant woman smoking marijuana in public and cited her.”
