Planning officials take up talk about Market Street walking

Since the end of last year, Market Street has been the focus of numerous test pilots, rehabilitation projects and planning studies.

One of those efforts was a pedestrian study by the Planning Department that included more than 200 surveys of people walking on Market Street. On Friday, officials from the Planning Department will discuss their findings at a lunchtime forum at SPUR, a local think-tank. The forum will focus on results of the study, as well as how those findings will affect the upcoming Better Market Street Project.

The meeting is scheduled to last from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at SPUR’s headquarters on 654 Mission St. The event is free to SPUR members and costs $5 for the rest of the public.
