Pinot noir, Gouda for elegant crook

A thief with “good taste” attempted a heist at a Whole Foods in San Francisco on Monday, police said.

The man went into the store at California and Franklin streets around 8:30 p.m. and placed some hummus, smoked Gouda, havarti, pepperoni and salami into his messenger bag, cops said.

He then sauntered over to the wine aisle and filched a bottle of $25 pinot noir.

As he left, security stopped him and called police.

The elegant thief was cited for petty theft and released from the scene, cops said.
