Someone was definitely in need of pest control.

A woman was robbed and burglarized in her Chinatown residence Friday by a crook who said he was the exterminator, police said.

The 61-year-old victim opened her apartment door in the 600 block of Grant Avenue about 9 a.m. and saw a man aged 30 to 40 standing outside who said he was there to spray for bugs.

The victim allowed the man inside, and he began looking around the apartment until he found the victim's purse and started rifling through it, police said.

The "exterminator" took the cash from the victim's wallet. She tried to stop him by grabbing his arm and the pest kicked her in the stomach before fleeing the scene.

The woman was not seriously injured in the assault. No arrest has been made.
