Peyton Manning broke Tom Brady's NFL record for most touchdown passes in a season with 51 during the Denver Broncos' 37-13 victory against the Houston Texans.

Manning did it on a 25-yard pass to Julius Thomas with 4:28 remaining in the game Sunday against the Texans. Just 2½ minutes earlier, he tied the mark with a 20-yard pass to Eric Decker.

"I really feel like it's a team accomplishment, certainly an offensive accomplishment," Manning said. "There's a lot of people that played roles in this."

Manning made the throw to Thomas and walked toward the end zone, where his teammates patted him on the head. He then took off his helmet and walking to the sideline and pumped his fist once. His teammates came out to greet him and he gave dozens of high-fives as he grinned and walked to the bench.

Decker picked up the ball after Thomas dropped it and tucked it in the side of his jersey, where it remained as he walked off the field.

Rams lose Long: St. Louis Rams offensive tackle Jake Long was taken off the field on a cart with a right knee injury at the end of the first offensive series against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Coach Jeff Fisher said the team believed Long had a torn ACL.

Panthers clinch playoff spot: Cam Newton threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Domenik Hixon with 23 seconds left to lift the Panthers to a 17-13 win over the New Orleans Saints and clinch the team's first playoff berth since 2008. Carolina (11-4) can wrap up the NFC South and a first-round bye in the playoffs with a win next Sunday at Atlanta.

Bengals lock up division: The Cincinnati Bengals walloped the Minnesota Vikings 42-14 and later clinched the AFC North title when the Baltimore Ravens lost at home to the New England Patriots 41-7. It's Cincinnati's first division title since 2009 and the Bengals' eighth overall in their 46 seasons.
