Pepper-sprayed victim fights back — and wins

Thieving pepper-spraying thugs were thwarted after a blinded victim fought back in the Western Addition neighborhood Friday, police said.

The thugs tried to rob two people, a 21-year-old woman and 23-year-old man, at a bus stop at Eddy and Divisadero streets around 9:45 p.m.

One of the three suspects, whom cops described only as black men in their 20s, pepper-sprayed both victims and attempted to snatch the woman’s purse, police said.

But the male victim wouldn’t stand for it — he punched the pepper-spraying thug, police said. The suspects fled, and nothing was stolen, police said.

The victims were treated at the scene for pepper spray exposure, police said.

No arrest has been made in the case.
